HYDROPONICSHydroponics is a method of growing which can yield greater quantities of plants in shorter periods with more control over the plants development.
Hydroponics require some kind of liquid fertilizer or compost tea to feed the plants nutrients which they would normally extract from the soil. By making your own compost tea and constructing your own hydroponic system, you assume control over the production of your food and keep your plants from absorbing any harmful substances which might be contaminating the soil. The compost tea should be used in the hydroponic growing container(s) as soon as it is ready and replaced every three days (maximum). Used compost tea can be watered down and used to fertilize soil-based plants. |
MAINTENANCE: The compost tea should be changed every three days in the hydroponic growing container and the plants will have to
be attended to. If timed correctly, you can always be producing compost tea to be used when the old batch is depleted.
CONSTRUCTION TIME: The compost tea will take three days to make and a hydroponic growing container could be assembled by one
person in less than a few hours.
